Cheap foods to build muscles

Going to gym regularly but I have limited resources for extravagant food recommended by bodybuilders to gain muscle. I need tips for cheap but effective foods to build muscles. I know eggs are good but some say it is dangerous to eat too much of them.
I would appreciate any advice.
